How we write and update our guides

You should know how our guides are made. We date every change, check each guide against its sources and fix mistakes when you tell us about them.

Where the facts come from

Each guide ends with a Sources section and the date we last checked it. Many guides link straight to the federal agency or payer page they rely on. State agencies set the final requirements, so confirm every requirement with your state licensing agency before you act.

How guides are dated

Every guide shows the date it was first published. When we revise a guide, we add an Updated date, and the same date appears in our sitemap.

Who reviews state-specific guidance

Guides that walk through a specific state's licensing rules wait for a named reviewer with state licensing experience. When a reviewer has checked a guide, we show their name and the review date on it.

How to report a correction

If you spot an error or an out-of-date rule, tell us through the contact form. We check it against the source, fix the guide and update its date.

General information only

Our guides are general information, not legal, tax, financial or medical advice. For decisions about your program, talk with your state agency and your own counsel.

Who publishes the guides

Guides are written and published by Groundwork, an Arche Studios company. Start with all IOP and PHP licensing guides.
